“We” is actually mostly just me - Daniel Litten (no, that handsome gentleman in the photo isn’t me). I founded this company as In-Tune Music Service, LLC in 2023 as a side-hustle, offering band instrument repairs and refurbishing used instruments to resell. I have occasionally taken on apprentices on a limited basis, and of course I hope to be able to hire some coworkers as the business continues to grow - hence the “we.” And using a “royal we” does make the copy sound better for some reason.

I’m a professionally trained musical instrument repair technician (graduated from Red Wing in 2021) with over a decade of experience working in B&O / music retail. Over the years I’ve worked in rentals, repairs, sales, marketing, purchasing, merchandising, shipping / receiving, and pretty much anything else you can think of that a music store needs someone to do.

I always felt like local music stores are a great resource for any community. I also always felt like there some parts of the business side of things that just didn’t sit right. Too much focus on selling, and profit, and status, but not enough focus on helping people.

A lot of folks act like the whole point of business is to make money, but that’s like saying the whole point of people is to eat. Yeah, we gotta eat, but we don’t have to be greedy about it. We can share. We can help others. We can make beautiful music together. (Note - this is just an analogy, businesses aren’t actually people despite Citizens United).

My goal for this company is to serve my local community by expanding access to music resources and education, and to show folks what it feels like when a company is focused on creating value for the community rather than extracting value from it.

I want to help give folks a chance to experience and participate in this wonderful creative facet of humanity. Music, dance, and all of the creative arts are our birthright as human beings, and nobody should miss out on the fun!

As of 2026 I’ve decided to keep the In-Tune Music brand as the b2b branch of my business and launched the Fiddler’s Den dba as the b2c brand for my business.
